Wikipedia says that a control freak is a person who attempts to dictate how everything around them is done. It can also
refer to someone with a limited number of things that they want done a
specific way. They won’t hesitate to be pushy just to get the things done.

In life, dealing such people are draining when you don’t seem to be able to complete everything on hand and things just pile up so high that you eventually hightail out of the place. There are ways to go about dealing with such people once you understand more about them.

Most of the time they keep hovering behind you is because of their own anxiety. Their main worry is failure. They fear about failing in relationships, work and almost everything. People avoid control freaks because they exude the aura of being more superior to others than they really are.

At work, there are ways to deal with them. Request for goals or deadlines whenever you are handing a project or anything. Set goals that can be measured. Send frequent updates. Control the change requests if the end product isn’t affected by the process. Stand firm when you have done your part. Then, they will look for someone less reliable.
