With great powers comes great responsibilities. ~ Spiderman ~ [Source]
Spiderman once caused the death of a thief who didn’t kill his Uncle Ben. He realised it when the Sandman appeared. How many of us are able to accept great responsibilities that are in our hands? A manager is in charge of hiring someone who is able to a job well. This person is supposed to manage the finances and stock-taking due to the small company’s size.
One day, the manager realised that the accounting didn’t seem right for a month that is supposed to be a good period. That’s when he realised that the money was not going into the company funds fully. Looking through past records, a certain percentage of the money is always missing. The new hire wasn’t doing his job. He was keeping more money for himself.
A CEO of a charity was found out to be keeping money for his house and car loans. Each year, he was flying on personal holidays at least four times a year using company funds meant for the very people the charity was supposed to be looking after.
A new designer was supposed to be hired but a relative of the hiring manager without designing skills was hired and sent to complete a client’s project. However, it was too much for the new hire to handle and the project was a failure and burst the budget allocated.
Are you responsible enough to handle it?
