Until you value yourself, you won’t value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it. ~ M. Scott Peck [Source]
Once we are born, we are valuable to our parents. Our parents take it upon their responsibilities to make sure that we get the best, so that we can enjoy lives better than they did. They hated the lives they had because they were slogging so hard to make ends meet. Hence, their wishes for us is so as to ensure we have better lives.
After completing school and entering the corporate world in hopes of repaying our parents for their hard work, we realise that our worth isn’t decided by us. The company decides how much the job is worth and we have to take it or leave it. That’s why there are so many yearning or being their own bosses so that time is decided by them.
Time is most precious to us because we don’t know when we will repay them. Our time on earth has an expiry date that we can’t see. We just leave like that when the Lord calls for us. We know how much time we have spent but we may not have spent the time doing things that are worth our value.
Our value has always been decided by others. Yet, we are always seeking for something. After a while in the corporate world, we lost ourselves. We think that we want this but in our hearts, we want something else. Year after year, we chase for something that we can’t seem to reach.
How much are you worth?
