Man is a rational animal who always loses his temper when called upon to act in accordance with the dictates of reason. ~ Orson Welles ~ [Source]
Temper is a test of patience. There are short-tempered people and they lose their tempers at anything. If the train doors closed just as they have descended the last steps, they get angry that the train driver didn’t wait or the train could come a minute later.
Even-tempered people keep their cool most of the times. When they do let their fury take over, all hell breaks loose. Their wrath will wreak havoc in their paths. Temper is like a rubber band. It can be stretched till it reaches its break point.

Take someone who is a responsible and filial son who often tries his best at putting some money for his parents. He could be the eldest in the family with younger siblings who are also working. They could be earning more than he does but are not contributing to the family. They tend to be selfish and often say “You are the eldest, you should give more.”
This isn’t in balance as being the eldest doesn’t mean that he should give more. There should be a balance because he will be getting married and wants to save up for it but his siblings are not understanding. Even his parents demand that he give more as he is the eldest.
Soon, he gets depressed and starts to wonder and envy why his friends have more earning power while he is stuck in his low paying job whereby his boss isn’t a good leader who will help his subordinates. He starts to wonder why his siblings who have more earning power be more family orientated and understanding.
His rubber band is now near breaking point. With monetary woes, he is unable to comprehend at the unfairness of it all. At this point, he can only try to let it stretch but how much longer?
How much longer can you let yours stretch until something is done before it breaks? How do you cope with your problems before you finally lose your temper?
