Experience is food for the brain. ~ Bill Watterson ~ [Source]
With Alzheimer’s disease gaining more exposure and more elderlies succumbed to its onslaught, the only way to slow it down is to keep the mind active. Imagine a writer whose life revolves around writing suddenly forgetting stuff like how to spell a simple word.
It is scary to forget how to eat, dress and even brush your teeth. Some suggest playing Mahjong to keep the mind going. Exercise the brain cells as the game calls for speed. Although some do it for money. Other ways of keeping the mind active include interacting with others, playing Scrabble, switching to a new career, volunteering and many more.
Even physical exercise helps too. Lifelong learning doesn’t hurt. All it takes is the motivation to kick start something new. Studies have shown that by making the brain cells work harder with new stuff, Alzheimer is being delayed.
There is the question of whether playing video games will help you since not all video games are created to stimulate brain cells.
How do you keep yours active?
