Often, it is passion that drives a person into staying on and interested for so long about a particular object or career despite the lack of monetary returns. Take for example that someone loves kids and wants to fulfil their wishes. Think of Make a Wish Foundation where the wishes are fulfilled by kind hearted people.

Sometimes, one is encouraged to turn the passion into a career. Becoming an archaeologist takes a lot of passion into finding fossils among other things. A historian is truly interested in history and wants to ensure that it is being shown the way it is supposed to be.
