Quit That Bad Habit!

March 27, 2008 | 1 Comment

While there are habits for success, we have bad habits that we want to quit such as smoking, nail biting, leaving the tap running while brushing the teeth, switching on all the lights despite needing only one (although it could be due to Achluophobia) and many others.

And as much as I am going to hate breaking the habit...

While it may not be obvious that some of the habits annoy others, we will continue those unless someone tells us that this is irritating or wasting electricity, recently, the electricity bills are on the rise.

What do we do to quit that bad habit such as smoking? Ask yourself four questions, “What will I do instead?”, “Do I really want to change?”, “Is now the right time?” and “What’s in it for me?”. For smoking, the answer is health. This method is not working for you? Try following the 6 tips to kicking that bad habit. Get someone to help you.

Still can’t get rid of that habit? Try the ten ways to quitting that habit. Notice that getting someone to help you is usually included in helping you quit? Keeping a log of what you have done related to the habit is also a good way to track and give yourself a pat on the back. Reward yourself for each milestone achieved and you will feel better for working towards the goal.
