Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. ~ Winston Churchill ~ [Source]

Being a freelancer isn’t easier. Especially when there is a global market in the online world. Similar services provided may be cheaper and potential clients can select the cheaper options to save cost. That is why freelancers need to have multiple skills to survive the dry spells when their primary skills are not needed for a certain period of time.

This is similar to the concept of having multiple careers. With the explosion of the internet being the hot and affordable place to market your products or services, the global market is a force to be reckoned with. Clients like to be listened to and they will choose the best person to do the job.

Sometimes, the time may be just right for a career change while other times, adaptability is the best option. Being adaptable means you can keep up and with the pace while managing to keep the cash flowing in instead of struggling with the money that is available on hand.

Change can be scary but if it helps in building yourself, why not? How much risk are you willing to take? Life throws us obstacles not to be beaten by them but to discover ourselves and courage to carry on.

What skills have you developed over the years to help you tide through the rough times?
